presents, plaster mishaps and an over achieving apple branch.

a little garden present was there waiting for me this morning...
after the hard rains last night my white lily finally opened.  :)

the bees are busy at work.  (can you find the bee?  silly things wouldn't stay still for the photo.  ;o) )

i was in the mood for something new this week so i decided to make, or try to make, new molds.  everything was going smoothly until after already started mixing the plaster i realized there would not be enough.  not only not enough to make a full two molds but not enough so the plaster bond is tough enough to work.  it's still curing but it's not looking hopeful. must have more than enough plaster before starting plaster projects, lesson learned.

 keeping busy..

~apple tree update~
the one branch with all the apples needed some extra support but so far everything looks good!

off to try to keep cool on this hot hazy august sunday.

until next time...

idle chit chat wednesday

this is petey,  our rescued tree that ian saved from a construction site destined to be destroyed.  given some love, some water and now a name he seems to have bounced back a bit, we know where his new home will be and look forward in seeing him grow tall and strong.  good ol' petey.  :u)

i was creeped out a bit last night by the amount of bugs lurking outside our kitchen window so i took a photo, turns out the double windows make a fabulous effect, despite the bugs...

happy plants.  :)

the tiger lilies are just starting to pop.

more happy plants.

leaf bowl and basket pattern molds curing.
tomorrow a bisque fire!  i need to get these traveler gnomes one step closer to completion.  i can't wait to see how they turn out!

until next time..

one more sleep....

closed but for only one more sleep!!!

it's here, it's finally here!!!  between the card printing glitch (reason why you haven't seen anything on paper yet, but soon!), utter exhaustion, my arm loosing the battle with a large headed nail (ouchie) and the aches and strains it's here,  it's finally here.  sure if you show up tomorrow you'll see me running around doing those last little details that always seem to take a little longer than you originally thought,  but i'll be smiling.  a big ol toothy smile.  :u)  but first a much needed shower and some sleep..

i hope to see everyone throughout the summer, or perhaps tomorrow!   please pop by for a visit and a look,  i'd love to see you!

hours:  july-september  wednesday-saturday 11am-5pm
directions:  hwy 11 to hwy 141, follow to utterson, turn south onto old muskoka rd (post office side), go up the hill, around the bend and you'll see the sign.  2530 old muskoka rd.
~please park in front of cedar rail fence~
until next time..

travellers and roses

what a busy and beautiful time of year.  busy working on getting my little home studio open for the summer.  signs, cards, gardens, stock, life.  busy, busy, busy.  good busy, fun busy, my busy.  feels good.

the newest additions to the nom's home family!  little traveler gnomes, perfect for pockets, house plants and adventure.  these little guys are each individually made and when finished will be about 3" tall.
my little apples are growing nicely.  :)

in fact everything is growing nicely!  everything is so green and lush this year, it's wonderful (despite the bugs).
our giant wild rose bush is blooming up a storm this year, the fragrance is incredible!
scratch and sniff...

back to the studio i must go..
but don't forget to take some time out and stop and smell the roses.
until next time...
