i have never seen it this dry.  they're calling for rain tonight but right now it's just been lightly spitting... please rain won't you give us a nice long wet visit.

kris king celebrity portrait

last night was the big unveiling of the bohemian's 3rd celebrity portrait featuring kris king.  five artists, myself, tammy gravina, sylvia bouchard, elizabeth louter and nina laakso each created his portrait.   after kris picks his favorite to keep the other four portraits are up for auction to raise money for his charity of choice which is the south muskoka hospital foundation.  i was lucky enough to be the one chosen!!!    my idea was to include kris' six nhl teams he's played for in his professional career so the colours indicate the teams he's played for and the width for how long, i made the portrait in white because that's the only 'colour' that all teams have connecting him with all of the teams.   all of the portraits are still up and will be up for the next week so you can bid on them at the bohemian cafe and gallery in bracebridge!  what a great event!  what a great night!

thanks to all who attended the unveiling and thanks to muskoka cottage brewery who sponsored the beers, the cottage cheese who paired the beer samplings with fabulous cheese and muskoka brownie and baking company for their yummy nummies and most importantly a big thank you to kris king!!!


next week is the muskoka arts & crafts 50th annual summer show AND the 15th annual artful garden starts.  busy, yes, yes i am.  :)
