oh the excitement of a good lid lifting.

one of my favorite parts of what i do is the opening of the lid on the kiln after a glaze firing and seeing all my little treasures in their final form for the first time.  even after all these years i STILL feel my heart race a bit with excitement lifting that lid.

i examine each piece as i take it out of the kiln.  loving all the different textures and patterns the glaze makes.

and each gnome gets checked over and inventoried.

and as i load the kiln for a bisque firing the cycle continues...

wait, is it almost september already...

oh how quickly the summer flies!

july happenings

just a quick reminder that the studio will be closed for the day this thursday, july 31st.
(will be open wednesday, friday and saturday 11-5 this week.)

the artful garden is still on and running daily 10-5 till august 10th.  this absolutely incredible show features 40 different outdoor artists (including my gnomes) in the picturesque gardens of the partridges.  a must see!!!

working on a big daddy gnome

working away in the studio gearing up for the busy summer months.

and the finished big daddy gnome.  :) will take 2-3 weeks of drying before his first trip into the kiln.
