oh the excitement of a good lid lifting.

one of my favorite parts of what i do is the opening of the lid on the kiln after a glaze firing and seeing all my little treasures in their final form for the first time.  even after all these years i STILL feel my heart race a bit with excitement lifting that lid.

i examine each piece as i take it out of the kiln.  loving all the different textures and patterns the glaze makes.

and each gnome gets checked over and inventoried.

and as i load the kiln for a bisque firing the cycle continues...
